Playing the Wind

This video was shot on the waters of Okanagan Lake near the village of Naramata, BC, Canada. A GoPro HD Hero camera was mounted on the rear deck of a Vanguard 15 racing dinghy and at the top of the mast and the boom of a Roberts 25 windsurfer fitted with Sailworks Retro sails. The Vanguard is appropriately called the “Easy Over”. Typically the dinghy is sailed up to about 12 knots of wind and the windsurfer at 14 knots+. My best days are when I paddle on my SUP [stand-up-paddle board] on calm waters in the morning, sail the light winds later in the morning and the higher winds in the afternoon. Afterwards, a glass or two of Okanagan wine completes a perfect day. Joie de vivre!
Song “Sail” is by Awolnation, “Megalithic Symphony” album, Red Bull Records.
